Chris Bacon was born in Watford, England in 1960. Within weeks his family boarded a ship to Ascension Island via Cape Town, South Africa and Saint Helena. His father’s work meant the family would travel. Their next home was on the Island of Viti Levu in Fiji.
Carel Brest van Kempen’s artistic mission has always been to deepen awareness of the natural world and how it functions. He grew up in the Wasatch Mountains of northern Utah, a land he has explored obsessively since childhood, trying to understand its ecology and how it’s changing over time.
Christopher P. Sloan is fascinated with all aspects of nature, science, and technology. He believes that our future depends on our understanding more about our planet and the universe we live in. He feels this is necessary in order to effectively meet current and future challenges.
Joni Gruber’s lifelong interests in environmentalism, nature conservation, travel, and gardening have led to abstract landscapes and elements of the natural world being prominent subject matter in her work.
